It follows the life of Ben a twenty-something who works in a city centre bookshop and spends far too much of his time smoking cigarettes and drinking strong coffee in the back streets of the French capital.
Years after he has left England he is still haunted by memories of his teenage love Clara, a beautiful but deeply troubled 18 year old single mum.
When Ben’s life goes into a free-fall and when he least needs it, he unexpectedly receives a visit from Clara’s daughter Emily who with a terminally ill grandfather is looking for answers of her own.
Ben takes the now 14 year old Emily on a guided tour around Paris and at the same time tries to avoid all the questions she has about why he had to leave her mother...

He quickly uncovers emotions and answers to questions that he had long forgotten as Emily brings a new light, a new understanding and a new friendship into his life.
